College Admissions
Hand the whole process to one person who has done it many times — and who will keep the student, the essays, the list, and the calendar moving together.
Let's talk about your studentThe one-stop shop
Most families hire a tutor and a separate college counselor. The two rarely speak. Academic work goes one direction while the application story goes another.
5-Star does both. Tutoring and admissions are managed as one plan by one accountable person. The score strategy supports the school list. The school list shapes the deadlines. The essays sound like the student.
What we handle
The Depth Chart
Every school on the list gets tracked in one place — Early Decision and Regular Decision deadlines, FAFSA and financial aid dates, and a scholarship list narrowed to the schools actually in play.
You get your own line of sight. You'll know what's finished, what's coming, and whether we're on schedule — without asking at dinner and getting "I'm handling it."
Your student gets something different: the decisions. They pick the schools. They write the essays. They own the outcome. My job is making sure nothing slips while they do.
Parents hear about progress and problems. Students make the calls. If your student falls behind, you'll know — that's what you're paying me for. What you won't get is a process that runs over your senior's head.
“…a highly strategic, metrics driven approach that maximized our remaining time and kept the whole family entirely on track.”
The straight-shooter
Christopher will tell a family when a student is reaching too high based on grades, scores, or track record.
That is not pessimism. It is professional responsibility. Parents are paying for a realistic plan, not a cheerleader — and students deserve a list with ambition, range, and real options.

In their own words
From the student
Alex
Student, 5-Star Learning
“I started off getting Bs and Cs, just going through the motions. Since working with Chris, I've completely turned that around — I've gotten all As, and I just got accepted to Boston University, my dream school. My parents are proud, but honestly, I'm proud of myself, too.”
From the parents
“We got a very late start to the college application process, and with a 3.4 GPA, we were incredibly nervous about our options. Chris stepped in, built a brilliant roadmap, and guided us straight to an Early Decision acceptance at Boston University.”
“If your student is getting a late start on college applications or even just their essays, call Chris immediately. … His deep understanding of the admissions landscape paid off when our son secured an Early Decision acceptance to Brown University.”
