Academic Success Coaching

Some students don’t need help with the material.

They need help with everything around it — starting the assignment, keeping track of what’s actually due, knowing what studying is even supposed to look like.

How it works

The skills nobody teaches, taught on purpose.

That’s coaching. Work on how your student works rather than what they’re working on: short- and long-term planning, time management, organization, task initiation, note-taking, study strategy, and walking into an exam prepared instead of panicked.

It’s built for students with executive function challenges — and for capable students who were never actually taught how to study, which is most of them.

And it’s built for college athletes. A team’s academic support staff is stretched across an entire roster. It isn’t built to sit down with one athlete and build a class schedule that survives their practice schedule, or work out how a 6am lift, a Tuesday lab, and a Thursday travel day fit together. And it isn’t there when the season ends and the structure that held everything up disappears with it.

Coaching is not tutoring. A tutor explains the chemistry. A coach makes sure the chemistry gets studied, on time, in a way that holds. Plenty of students need both — and unlike a college learning center, I do both.
